Home Makers Club | Paint the Paddock Workshop

Spend a summer afternoon getting creative at The Farm with a relaxed acrylic-on-canvas session inspired by the colours, animals and landscape of the paddock. Kids will sketch, paint and explore their own style as they capture what they see around them. A calm and creative way to slow down these holidays. Baylato | Hands in Clay, Smiles with Gelato Kid's Workshop

A fun, hands-on workshop where kids create their own clay masterpieces inspired by farm life and ice cream, then celebrate with a Baylato gelato cone. Guided by local potter Paola Zlatar, children will explore shapes, textures, and hand-building techniques in a safe and creative environment.

April 20th - Easter Sunday

This Easter Sunday, bring the kids along for a good old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt at The Farm! Meet at the Wishing Well at 9:20 AM sharp. This activity is FREE and everyone is welcome!

FRIDAY 28TH JANUARY 2022

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm followed by a discussion of the importance of Bees for our planet and the plight they are facing! We also discuss what we can do to help. We examine the equipment used by a beekeeper and get to try on a bee suit. We make candles out of beeswax and if time permits make coloured clay bee pendants.

January 25th

The kids become mini farmers and after a detailed tour get set to work doing farm chores. We collect eggs, restock our pet chickens bedding, ensure they have fresh water and clean out the coup. We work on our dedicated Farm Kids garden plot and tend to our onsite worm Subpod. If the opportunity arises, we assist the farmers with their chores. They forage, cook, make natural products, create and see where their food comes from as well as experience countless opportunities to learn about teamwork, community, and ethical farming practices.

MONDAY 24TH January 2021

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm followed by a discussion about the sun, plants, seasons, photosynthesis and sun safety. We will make natural sunscreen, plant aloe and sunflowers in the garden and plant a sunflower seed in a pot to take home.

FRIDAY 21ST JANUARY 2022

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm followed by a discussion on soil types such as mud, dirt, soil, clay and compost. What soil is good for growing plants on our farm and at home? We then make a farm animal or seed pot from clay, work in our Farm Kids plot and visit the Subpod.

WEDNESDAY 19TH JANUARY 2022

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm followed by a discussion on the healing properties of medicinal herbs and their use traditionally and currently. We head to garden to hunt for medicinal herbs and discuss what we find, then make some soaps from scratch with ingredients found on The Farm.

Today we focus in on the native bee. We start the workshop with a native bee hunt through the market gardens and macadamia orchard. In craft we make a fabulous clay native bee hotel and natural lip balm with beeswax and honey.

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm followed by a discussion and taste of veggies and herbs we have picked on the tour. We work in our Farm Kids veggie plot and make a crafty and hilarious Mr Potato Head to take home.

WEDNESDAY 12TH JANUARY 2022

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm searching for and collecting seeds. We talk about where seeds come from and how they grow. In craft we will make a bird feeder, natural glue and planting seeds in trays to take home.

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm where we specifically search for and focus our discussion on Flowers. We examine parts and purposes of flowers, we smell and taste edible flowers and learn about companion planting. In craft we decorate and paint timber beads to make a flower keyring or bag tag and craft a flower collage using petals and leaves and seeds.

FRIDAY 7TH JANUARY 2022

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm followed by a discussion about the benefits of natural products versus chemically laden products and the adverse effects it can have on our bodies. We make lip balm and cute little soaps with flower petals.

WEDNESDAY 5TH JANUARY 2022

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm where we specifically search for and focus our discussion on Beneficial Bugs. We talk about why specific bugs are a beneficial part for our eco-system and what plants help attract these much-needed bugs. In craft we paint a lady bug pot, plant a flower seed and make a natural insecticide.

We start the workshop with an educational and fun tour of The Farm focussing in on our animals particularly our Chickens. We sensitively discuss animal (chicken) welfare and healthy farming and egg production. We make honey piklets with fresh eggs and honey from the farm and use the eggshells from cooking to create egg people with watercress hair.
