Fermentation Workshop - Sep 22

Suria Foods Fermentation Workshop

Sunday 22nd of September, 10am - 1pm

This course is an opportunity to learn the principles of an ancient method of fermenting that can be applied to any seasonal produce. Scientists have proven that the process of fermenting fruit and vegetables enhances their nutritional content. After the course you will take home a jar of the ferments to mature and some complimentary fermented drinks from Suria Foods.

Price

$120 (booking fees may apply)
Price includes a degustation of Suria Foods fermented products

This intensive 3 hours course is designed to give participants a good understanding of the fermentation process through hands-on learning experience. You will learn:

  • About fruit and vegetable seasonality and how important it is to eat sustainably grown seasonal produce.

  • The basics of fermentation and be given support to enable you to create your own ferments from seasonal ingredients harvested at The Farm garden.

  • The health benefits of fermented food and how does it affect our gut health.

Although the length of the course does not allow us to develop your ferments together, you will have examples of ferments at different stages. By examining these through discussion and degustation of Suria Foods ferments. At the end of the day you will have an understanding of how your own ferments should develop. You will take away a jar of the ferments you create in class to confidently mature them, at home, to your own personal taste. You will also take home some complimentary fermented drinks from Suria Foods.
