The Bread Social - Bread Class

The Bread Social Bakers will be taking you through the basics of sourdough bread making. We are going to replicate home baking conditions so you can achieve great results without commercial equipment . We will take you through each stage of the process including; Mixing, proving, shaping and baking.
By the end of the course you'll be taking home some bread you've baked, some dough you've shaped, some Bread Social starter and as many tips and tricks as we can squeeze into three hours. We will finish with some local produce, refreshments and an opportunity for questions with a few members of our baking team.

We will trouble shoot some of the common issues that arise with bread making at home and talk about some of the science that is happening in the fermentation process.
This is a hands-on course that will give you the opportunity to gain experience with:
Different Bread baking methods for home ovens
Mixing doughs
Kneading techniques
Bread shaping techniques
Wild yeast starter feeding schedules
Bread analyzing and tasting
We will have an open discussion about bread making and enjoy some local produce and refreshments from friends of The Bread Social.
