Farm Kids School Holiday Love the Planet Workshop – July 10th
1.30pm – 4.30pm, $65 per child per day, ages 4 to 12 yrs
We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour where we look at and discuss how The Farm operates with sustainable methods, from composting to water catchment and organic farming practices. We also get up close and personal with our onsite worm Subpod! In craft we upcycle cans to turn into gorgeous flower pots and plant flowers to attract beneficial bugs. We make beeswax wraps to replace the dreaded plastic wrap.

What is included?
Farm Kids tour:
At the beginning of each workshop we take the children on an educational and fun tour of The Farm. We educate them about our cows, pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie crops. We discuss concepts like paddock rotation for the animals, pollination, organic farming, healthy soil and composting and other ethical farming practices. The children get up close and personal with our pet chickens and see how the commercial chicken caravan works. The children pick and taste veggies, edible flowers and herbs.
Discussion Focus: Love the Planet – Living Sustainably. We discuss what is best practice for nurturing our planet and just how important this is for the future of a healthy world. We discuss with the children how as individuals we can make a difference by attempting to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
Cooking: We learn how to make beeswax wraps out of organic cotton and/or upcycled cotton from clothing and natural products to replace plastic wrap.
Craft: We decorate upcycled tin cans and plant beneficial bug attracting flowers.

Where to meet
We will meet at the Farm House opposite the restaurant. Please look out for the signs to guide you.
Ages
These workshops are appropriate for all aged children. If your child is under 5 you will need to remain onsite at The Farm. If your child is under 4 he/she needs to be accompanied to the workshop by an adult Children as old as 15 have enjoyed our workshops. Checkout our Mini Farmers program if you are 7 and older and want a full day working farm experience.
