Farm Kids School Holiday Cows Workshop – December 30th

9.30am–12.30pm, ages 4 to 12 yrs, $65 per child

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm followed by a discussion about cows, animal welfare and eating meat. In craft we make a cow trinket jar and the children learn how to make butter.

What is included?

Farm Kids tour:
At the beginning of each workshop we take the children on an educational and fun tour of The Farm. We educate them about our cows, pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie crops. We discuss concepts like paddock rotation for the animals, pollination, organic farming, healthy soil and composting and other ethical farming practices. The children get up close and personal with our pet chickens and see how the commercial chicken caravan works. The children pick and taste veggies, edible flowers and herbs.

Discussion Focus: Cows. What is Beef and Dairy? Ethical farming and animal welfare. 

Cooking: We learn how to make butter.

Craft: We make a cow themed trinket jar.

What to bring

– Sturdy walking shoes
– Raincoat
– Sunhat
– Morning tea snack
– Backpack (to carry above)

Where to meet

Workshops begin at 9.30am, NSW time each morning. (If coming from QLD, please be aware of time difference during day light savings!) We will meet at the Barn, which is located at the back of the Restaurant. Look out for the signs to guide you.

Ages

These workshops are appropriate for children aged 4 and older. If your child is 4 you will need to remain onsite at The Farm. Children as old as 15 have enjoyed our workshops. Checkout our Mini Farmers program if you are 7 and older and want a full day working farm experience.
