Sheep and goat essentials at The Farm.
North Coast Local Land Services is hosting a free practical workshop at The Farm for sheep and goat producers, breeders and owners looking to build confidence in animal health, handling and husbandry.
Tailored to the North Coast region, the workshop will focus on some of the more common and challenging issues faced locally, including biosecurity, animal identification and movement requirements, EID implementation, recognising signs of ill health, parasite management, foot health, toxic plants and predator risks.
The day will also explore best-practice approaches to practical skills such as handling, health checks, drenching, vaccinating, tagging and sample collection, with guidance on when veterinary or professional advice may be needed.
It’s a hands-on, regionally focused workshop designed to support better animal care and practical understanding for those working with sheep and goats.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
