Join Steve from Australian Native Bees for a full-day professional development workshop designed for educators who want to bring the fascinating world of native bees into the classroom and school environment.

Across the day, teachers will explore how native bees can be used as a powerful learning tool to support environmental education, STEM learning and hands-on sustainability programs within schools.

The workshop combines practical knowledge with real classroom applications, giving educators the confidence and resources to introduce native bee projects into their own school communities.

Workshop Topics

• Native bee biology and behaviour
• Planting guides to support native bees in school environments
• Bee box design and solitary hive construction
• Cultural significance of native bees
• Practical ways to integrate native bees into school learning programs, with examples for preschool, primary school, high school and STEM learning

Professional Development

Completion of the Australian Native Bees in Education Workshop contributes 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited Professional Development in the priority area of Delivery and Assessment of NSW Curriculum/EYLF, addressing Standard Descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. This contributes towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
