Fork in the Field has hatched a Children’s Farm to Fork Holiday at The Farm in Byron Bay during the Easter holidays.

The program takes children aged 5–11 on a fork journey, joining the dots between people, planet and plate. The workshops are designed to appeal to families of visitors and locals wishing to provide their children with practical life-cooking skills and want them to experience where food comes from and how they can be empowered with their choices.

Activities consist of planting a crop that will form the Children’s Patch, in the shed cooking and creating everything from a yogurt cheese to their own pot of preservative-free lemon-lime butter.

Children will be able to plant alongside the farmers and understand the interrelationship between good soil and tasty food.

Daily workshops run Monday to Friday until 17 April 10am–3.30pm.

For more information and bookings email children@thefarmbyronbay.com.au or call Alison Drover on 0404 304 458.
