This term, we’ll take a closer look at what food is grown on The Farm Byron Bay and other agricultural properties. Each session includes a detailed tour, followed by farm chores and the chance to learn about sustainable marketing practices.

WEDNESDAY, 3 MAY | POULTRY
9am - 3pm | $130 | Ages 5 to 12 Years
We’ll discuss poultry, what they are, what they eat and their breeds in this interactive workshop. We’ll also make feather craft and cook an omelette with fresh garden herbs.
WEDNESDAY, 10 MAY | PIGS
9am - 3pm | $130 | Ages 5 to 12 Years
In this workshop, we’ll discuss pigs, ethical pig farming, paddock rotation and learn lots of fun pig facts! We’ll also cook a ham and cheese toastie and make paper mâché pigs.
WEDNESDAY, 17 MAY | SHEEP
9am - 3pm | $130 | Ages 5 to 12 Years
Our mini farmers will discuss sheep, all the heritage breeds, their diet and ethical farming practices. In craft, we make macrame cotton and wool yarn rainbows and do a fun felting project.
WEDNESDAY, 24 MAY | COWS
9am - 3pm | $130 | Ages 5 to 12 Years
We’ll discuss cows, beef and dairy, learn about ethnical farming and take a close look at the different cows at The Farm. We’ll also make butter and a Scottish Highlander framed art piece to take home.
WEDNESDAY, 31 MAY | GOATS
9am - 3pm | $130 | Ages 5 to 12 Years
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll discuss goats, their uses on the farm, meat and milk production and different breeds. In craft, we’ll make goat puppets and cook delicious mini frittatas with goats cheese and garden produce.
WEDNESDAY, 7 JUNE | HORSES
9am - 3pm | $130 | Ages 5 to 12 Years
Our Mini Farmers will discuss horses, why they are on farms, happy healthy horses and their horses and their diet. In craft, we’ll make lucky horse shoes and upcycled horse craft.
WEDNESDAY, 14 JUNE | PRODUCTIVE POLLINATORS
9am - 3pm | $130 | Ages 5 to 12 Years
We’ll discuss pollinators, the life cycle of plants that produce food and which insects can pollinate our crops. We do butterfly face-painting, make a beneficial bugs poster and plant flowers in The Farm’s garden.
WEDNESDAY, 21 JUNE | FROM PADDOCK TO PLATE
9am - 3pm | $130 | Ages 5 to 12 Years
We’ll find out about paddock to plate, including food miles, eating local, growing at home and different ways to prepare food. We’ll also cook two recipes from paddock to plate.
