This Flow Hive Taster Workshop is a brief presentation delivered in The Farm House, followed by a hands-on experience in The Farm Apiary. Take part in the interactive inspection of a working colony and enjoy a taste of some fresh honey extracted straight from the hive.
Delve into the intricacies of cheesemaking on this full day Masterclass with second generation cheesemaker, Hannah Lillywhite. From start to finish, let Hannah demystify the science and art of cheesemaking!
You will learn to craft your own artisan Feta, Halloumi, Whey Ricotta and Hard Table Cheese (like a fresh pecorino/gouda) on this hands-on, full day workshop. Then finish off your day with a glass of wine to celebrate your achievements!
An introduction to growing and designing with Flowers.
In this workshop Jess will share her love and knowledge of all things sustainable flowers. You will learn which flowers grow best in your area, when to start planting and how to start from seed. Strolling through the flower fields you will discuss how to look after your plants and learn harvesting tips and tricks. Heading back to the Farm house with an arm full of flowers you will then design and create your own foam free vase arrangement of mixed seasonal flowers to take home. All techniques will be demonstrated carefully and will be fun for all ability levels.
In this workshop you will be introduced to the magic and beauty of natural dyeing. Sue will share with you which plants and kitchen waste can be used for dyeing, how to effectively mordant fabric and the technique of bundle dyeing. You will forage for botanicals in The Garden Shed’s flower plot to enable you to create your own unique cotton wrap or silk scarf reflecting the beauty of nature.
This course is an opportunity to learn the principles of an ancient method of fermenting that can be applied to any seasonal produce. Scientists have proven that the process of fermenting fruit and vegetables enhances their nutritional content. After the course you will take home a jar of the ferments to mature and some complimentary fermented drinks from Suria Foods.
