Farm Kids Mini Farmers Program - September 25, October 2nd and 9th

The kids become mini farmers and get set to work doing farm chores; collecting and cleaning eggs, checking fences, feeding animals, clearing paddocks and more. They work along side the farmers from Liberation Larder in the market garden. They cook, create and see where their food comes from as well as experience countless opportunities to learn about teamwork, community, and ethical farming practices.

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm followed by a discussion on ethical pig farming and animal welfare. We visit the pigs, big and small, and talk about many fun piggy facts that are both interesting and funny! We make bacon and egg potato rosti and in craft make a pig pencil holder.

Farm Kids School Holiday Flowers Workshop – September 24th

We start the workshop with an educational, hands on and fun tour of The Farm where we specifically search for and focus our discussion on Flowers. We examine parts and purposes of flowers, we smell and taste edible flowers and learn about companion planting. In craft we make bath bombs using flower essences and plant flower seeds in trays to start our own flower garden.
